Meet The Face Behind Fine German Housecleaning

I’m Katrin Hintermeier, the proud owner of Fine German Housecleaning.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I was born and raised in Germany in a big family household where all my siblings had to help our mother with the household chores.

It taught me to clean spaces efficiently without cutting corners. I also realized that a sweet-smelling and hygienically clean environment creates peace of mind and helps to focus on what’s essential in life.

In 1990 I made a life-changing decision by immigrating to the US and becoming a tour guide for German-speaking tourists in San Francisco. Later, I started to add a shimmer and shine to my friends’ homes and loved the experience so much that it inspired me to launch a cleaning business in 2000.

Over the past twenty years, I’ve grown the business year on year. To think, when I first started, it was just me and now I’ve employed ten cleaning professionals to help me cope with demand and manage logistics.

I always look to go the extra mile, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my seven core values. It includes respect, responsibility, caring, excellence, integrity, innovation, and empowerment, and these ethics have made me successful.

I also attribute my success to consistently giving my best and being persistent. My philosophy is that every challenge can get turned into a positive, which will create abundance for myself, my employees, and my customers.

Consequently, I derive joy from transforming my customers’ houses into bright sanctuaries, and it’s rewarding when they are happily surprised to see the clean and fresh spaces. Making a difference in my customers’ lives is essential, as, without them, I would not be where I am today.

Therefore, when I’m able to build fulfilling partnerships with employees and customers, it fills me with immense satisfaction. I achieve this by being kind, maintaining a friendly attitude, and having fun while working.

When I’m not cleaning homes, I love traveling, hiking, planting veggies, and spending quality time with my family. I’m also a keen volunteer and have set up a charity.

In 2016, I founded the non-profit cause “Nepal Empowered”, which establishes adult literacy programs designed for illiterate women in Nepal’s rural and mountainous areas.
